The next morning Quinn wakes up early. It is Kendra’s first day at her new school. Quinn wants to make Kendra’s favorite food for her, waffles.
However, while the waffles are in the oven (for some reason), she decides it would be a good time to change out of her underwear and put on some clothes. As soon as she gets back, the stove catches on fire.
The girls scream for a few minutes before Quinn gets her head on straight and grabs the fire extinguisher. The fire quickly spreads to the countertop and becomes much more than Quinn can handle. But the fireman soon gets there, and the two of them are able to put the fire out, but not before causing $900 worth of damage. $900 Quinn doesn’t have. Quinn also can’t help noticing how beautiful the fireman’s eyes are. Too bad she isn’t looking for a relationship, because he seemed pretty interested.
Kendra heads to school hungry, since she spent her last few minutes before the bus arrived worrying about the fire instead of eating (logically). Quinn sits down and eats some leftover autumn salad while pondering her job options.
Quinn goes downtown in search of a job, and finally finds one as a part-time spa specialist. She isn’t happy with this turn of events, as she wished to get a job in the culinary career, and decides to take it out on the first person she sees. She begins yelling at Abraham Finkel about something resembling Big Foot.
When he tries to patch things up by telling her a story (perhaps about Big Foot?) Quinn decides she has had enough, and slaps him across the face. The two stare at each other for the next forty minutes, with Quinn throwing in the occasional menacing growl. Eventually, Abraham goes off to read the newspaper, and Quinn heads home in a much better mood.
After school, Kendra is invited to go over to Kaylynn Langerak’s house. She has a wish to become friends with Kaylynn (whom Kendra discovers is rich), and begins talking to her, presumably about the fire that morning.
Soon, the two girls sit down to do their homework, but still take the time to complain to each other about school.
When she finishes, Kendra goes upstairs to Kaylynn’s bedroom and plays with her toys. Kendra has no toys at home, and has a blast playing with Kaylynn’s. But soon, it is time to go home. When Kendra gets there, she realizes Quinn is already asleep. So she gets herself a piece of bread with some jam and then heads to bed.

Wow! I really like this! I’ll add you to my blog list. (No stories just yet)
By the way, I love the concept! It reminds me of the movie Manny and Lo. Have you ever seen it? It stars a then twelve year old Scarlett Johannson and Mary Kay Place?
Thanks for all the views and comments, everyone! 🙂
“The two stare at each other for the next forty minutes, with Quinn throwing in the occasional menacing growl” XD This is just too funny, I’ll die of laughter soon!
Haha, niiiiice. Nothing’s more important that glaring at your enemies!
